“Bitterness is the coward’s revenge on the world for having been hurt.” ~Zora Neale Hurston
It was on this day 123 years ago in Nostaluga, Alabama that a legend was born, Zora Neale Hurston. One of the most recognizable figures during the time of the Harlem Renaissance, Hurston was an author, anthropologist and folklorist. Most recognized for her novel “Their Eyes Were Watching GOD” Hurston is one of the most celebrated [ Yet underappreciated] names in African-American literature. It was Zora Neale along with Langston Hughes who were most influential in my choice to become a writer.
