Last night, after a very successful photoshoot for my nail polish line Liquid Frosting I took a deep breath and took it all in. What began as simply an idea a little over three years ago has become a reality. A person who never commits to anything has finally seen something through to the very end. This for me was one of my proudest moments. So while in conversation with a close friend she asks, “B, what is your inspiration?” So often I am moving at such a fast pace that I never truly stop to think about what motivates and inspires me most. An easy answer to her question would have been “my son”. While Dude is a great part of what drives me to want to do great things he is not the inspiration behind the brand I am building known as Liquid Frosting Nail Color. My answer was as follows:
” I am constantly inspired by the ugliness of things in premature form. Like dirt, with a little rain it blooms the most beautiful of flowers.” Does that make sense? I have always been one to find beauty in things people find to be distasteful and ugly, we sometimes despise storms not realizing that at the end of a storm is a rainbow. (Rainbows were GOD’s promise to never destroy the Earth by flood again). Or love, love at times in stages of infancy are far from beautiful but once you get past the newness of problems it is a beautiful thing. To see my vision go from the ugly stages of premature ideas to the beautiful brand it is evolving into is an inspiration in itself. So as I grow, and evolve and become better person all around I find that my inspiration is me. The rose that grew from concrete. (Thank you Ty)
“Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature’s law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it’s dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.”~Tupac ShakurWhat is your inspiration?
