Although St. Louis is currently experiencing 60 degree weather there is no doubt about it Christmas is vastly approaching. One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is watching Christmas movies. I know most people prefer the classics like “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “Charlie Brown Christmas” me on the other hand I prefer the REAL classics.
Every year for as long as I can remember TBS has shown “A Christmas Story” for 24 hours straight beginning on Christmas Eve, this year I am hoping will be no different. So after all the gifts are opened and the children have tired themselves out from playing with their new gadgets and the men sit down to watch basketball games I plan on sitting in the middle of my bed by myself with a big glass of milk and some of my Granny’s peanut butter cookies and watching “A Christmas Story” over and over. This is a movie that I have never grown tired of. This is a classic movie that the entire family can watch and enjoy. I think at some point we all can relate to Ralphie and his Christmas struggles.
Another classic for me is “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”, Chevy Chase is funny as always. The Griswalds are celebrating Christmas in true Griswald manner from the over cooked turkey to the squirrel in the Christmas tree, this movie is comedy at it’s finest.
